We are of course talking about Panama native Joseph Trejos and his most recent win at Gulfstream Park and the future of his career.

The Career Of The Rising Star

Though you may not have heard of this young star until now, he is definitely one to look out for. Starting out as an apprentice, the rising star has ridden over 44 winners in Panama.

During the 2018 year at his school, he has voted the rider of the year and it is this talent that clearly shows through. With an outstanding work ethic and the drive to win he has been a favourite for many horse betting sites in the US and this clearly shows.

With several wins under his belt and many more to come, the 23-year-old is set to change the face of horse racing in the US throughout his career as he grows.

The Success In Panama

Before moving to the US, this young superstar saw 44 wins in total across a wide number of horses. This is a strong start as an apprentice jockey and has seen him climb through the ranks, but it is his first major win on a stage this size that has seen him into pushed into the limelight.

However, with the 2020 season ahead, will he be as successful in the future?

The Victory In The US

A prime example of this is the most recent win in Gulfstream park this last weekend. With many seeing his as the favourite to win, it was no surprise that he was able to secure his first victory. The race was neck a neck with Mixteca winning by just half a horse length.

When asked about the win, the agent Jose Sanchez had this to say:

“He has a lot of good qualities, he is a good worker, he’s very serious and is here to win.”

This is a promising sign for the future of the sport as talent such as this is proving highly popular. This, therefore, means that the future of the sport is looking promising and could see a whole new range of people coming to the sport.

With the younger generation taking an interest at in the sports there is there is the potential for increased revenue as a result.

What Do We Know About The Horse?

At just 3 years old, this horse is set to have a successful career ahead of it. Art of the success on this racecourse could be down to the training facilities. This is because he is trained in palm meadows on similar terrain to the racecourse itself.

By winning his first turf debut, he has helped to raise the potential of the Jockey as all eyes are on him to see if he can continue his winning streak. With 7 rides and one victory to his name since moving to the U.S in November of 2018, this is looking to be a promising start that will carry him forward into his next race.
