The Favourites

Heading the market this year is Minnie Hauk, the unbeaten filly for Aidan O’Brien and Coolmore.

With Group 1 wins across England and Ireland and a plum draw in stall 1, her price has shortened, reflecting historic trends favouring an inside berth.

With her regular jockey, Ryan Moore, still sidelined through injury, Christophe Soumillon has stepped in to take the reins.

Drawn in stall 12, Aventure is next in line and has been a model of consistency at Longchamp, boasting two key wins on the course this season.

Despite the wide draw, she’s expected to go close, but her price has drifted slightly as a result.

Sosie rounds out the top three behind Minnie Hauk and Aventure.

His draw in stall 3 gives him a genuine shot, and Andre Fabre’s record in the Arc provides layers of confidence as many tipsters mark him as solid each-way value.

Main Contenders

Following the favourites in the odds, the field is packed with smart each-way options.

Byzantine Dream has drifted due to a tough stall 15, but is seen as the best Japanese hope if he can get cover.

Kalpana and Croix Du Nord are next, boasting strong European and Japanese Group form, but both are drawn wider than ideal.

Cualificar, Gezora, and Daryz are solid runners from respected yards; Cualificar and Gezora secured midfield draws, which could suit their late-running styles.

Daryz was rewarded with a perfect draw in stall 2 and, as a proven stayer, is attracting each-way support.

Alohi Alii, Japan’s lightly raced improver, landed stall 4, a handy position for a bomb-from-the-gate contender, and remains the value play among Japanese runners with Christophe Lemaire aboard.

Outsiders and Shock Possibilities

The field’s remaining half includes several horses at big prices, some of whom landed advantageous draws.

Giavellotto, Leffard, Los Angeles, and Quisisana all drew stalls 5–9, enhancing their each-way potential.

White Birch is seen as a late closer with upside if gaps appear, but will need luck at Longchamp.

Hotazhell and Arrow Eagle fill the biggest outsider spots at 80/1 and 100/1, their wide draws hardly improving their chances, though historic upsets are not unheard of.

Estrange, widely seen as a long shot, starts from stall 18, historically a near-impossible spot.

Among these, Giavellotto (stall 5) and Leffard (stall 6) may outrun their odds with ground, draw, and stamina on their side, as outsiders have hit the frame in several recent years.

Historical Odds and Betting Trends

Looking back at the odds of the last ten Arc winners reveals a fascinating pattern.

Four of the last ten favourites have triumphed, notably Alpinista (33/10, 2022) and Ace Impact (19/10, 2023).

Enable justified her even odds in 2018 once but was also beaten as a favourite on two other attempts, in 2019 and 2020.

Recent winners like Waldgeist (13/1, 2019) and Found (6/1, 2016) were well supported but not outright favourites.

Torquator Tasso’s success at 72/1 in 2021 stands as a reminder of the Arc’s capacity for shocks, and several placed horses have routinely returned double-digit odds, rewarding each-way backers.

The first three home often include at least one runner priced at 14/1 or bigger, showing that while favourites do well, middle odds and each-way bets are abundantly worthwhile in this big field.

When looking at the draw, inside single-digit stalls have accounted for most wins, while success from wider stalls is exceptionally rare.

Big odds and late market moves should be considered along with post position, stable form, and industry confidence.

Enjoy the Race

The odds for the 2025 Arc reflect what makes this race so captivating: a head-to-head between bankable favourites with strong draws, top-level contenders forced to battle adverse positions, and value outsiders hoping to emulate past upsets.

While the likes of Minnie Hauk, Aventure, and Sosie command the betting, history signals that punters should not ignore contenders like Daryz, Giavellotto, or Alohi Alii, especially those who have landed favourable draws.

With the first three home frequently featuring horses at enticing middle prices and long shot placings not uncommon, each-way bets and thoughtful form analysis remain key.

Sunday’s Arc promises a wide-open finish, where odds and post positions could decide both sporting glory and punting riches.
